Windows NT is VMS

I spent the week in Austin at the David Solomon Windows Internal Architecture Class. The class was a lot of fun and very useful. It was heavy geek stuff, so I will not delve into the details. I did want to give you some quotes from the week though.

"You are looking at the blue screen of death much faster so performance is improved."
"WMI, other wise know as the SLOW standard."
"This API call allows a child in one sandbox to do brain surgery on a child in another sandbox."
"PowerPoint XP may be slower but at lest it takes up more memory."
"So Windows NT has no bugs just theoretical discussions."

"Protection from whom Tommy... Ze Germans?"

It has been a weird week. I will not go too far in to details, but suffice it to say I feel like a big foreboding storm cloud is hanging just behind me and I don't see it. Woke up this morning humming the song "Golden Brown" by the Stranglers off the Snatch Soundtrack. The scene it the one were Gorgeous George is laying unconscious at the Piker's Camp and Tommy is up against the wall thinking about what happens if he does not wake. So do I go out for Beer, work all night, or ?

So tell me about this new girl in your life.

Well it has been a while since I have updated the page and yes my fan complained. A great deal has been going on and I have not want too publish all of it. So I am sorry, but you understand, after all you are my adoring audience. So here the highlights!

When I was in my early teens, I saw a movie that changed my life. Ok, I know that sounds terribly cliché. The move was "Harold and Maude." If you have ever seen it you may know what I mean. It was the first black comedy I had ever seen. A love story of a neurotic young man (played by Bud Court) and the most well adjusted insane woman ever (Ruth Gordon). If you have not seen it a dozen you have no chance of understanding what goes on in my head. Time and again my life has come back to this movie. Last week it did that very thing again.

Two of the most remarkable people I know did something wonderful for me. They both deserver too be mentioned by name. Cache, as good of a friend as I have ever had and Squeak a person of rare beauty and bravery. What they did touched my heart because they bought me a Banjo.

The Banjo is a girl and she has a name. Her name is "Annabelle" Anna for short. She does seem too like me. So I am teaching my self to play the Banjo… now I just have to find a good graveyard to practice in.
