Big Hills and Sampsonite

Hey all. Lots to talk about!

The ski trip was great. We flew out on Monday morning got to Denver by noonish and drove up to BeaverCreek. We rented a 4 wheel drive but as it turned out we ended up not even seeing so much as a really wet road. BeaverCreek is about 25 mile west of Vail up I-70. I kept thinking the whole drive about how much I miss mountains living in Texas. There really is not sense of perspective in Dallas. Put a mountain (5000+ft above) the Dallas skyline and I think you look at things differently.

Pulling into the Hotel 'it' started. Let me tell you about 'it.' The thing I learned about me on this trip is that I do not like feeling important and sucked up to. Do not get me wrong, I did not hate calling the concierge desk and having a car take me anywhere I want. I could get really used to that. 'It' started by the valet getting my bags and parking the car for me. Continued with the bell hop and the front desk and the latter the bartender. By the second night 'it' had started to drive me crazy. I found myself begging for a surly waiter or rued driver. There was one humorous fellow who sat us for breakfast every morning, now he was entertaining. I guess that is it, I want the people around me to be entertaining and interesting. Oh yeah… and I want to carry my own bag. It lets me feel like I can pull my own weight.
