Home fires

A quick update on my grandparent’s home, I talked to my Mom tonight. She was telling me about the new place and how excited they are to be moving in. Then she said something about the people that bought the house. I get to that in a minute. I knew they were in a hurry to move in. My thoughts were that they were some California so-and-so’s who were moving in to MY childhood home.

Turns out they have names and everything. Dianne and Gary Dobbins. He was a publisher, a newspaper called the Coastal View News in Carpinteria, California and he was on the chamber board of directors. Their daughter Tawny Blair and son Shawn Blair live in Myrtle Creek.

Now the reason they were in a hurry. Dianne Patricia Dobbins passed away peacefully on January 29, 2002, following a courageous battle with cancer. Her finial days were spent in her home; on the land my Grandparents bought and build a home on when I was a very young boy. I do not know how any other words to say how I feel, may you family be warm and safe.
