"French refuse to disarm." ... breaks hand instead.
This weekend everyone's favorite froggy broke him wrist. Pat is ok, from the report I have gotten, and talking to Pat. He apparently caught the weight for distance in the highland games. As the story goes he was at the Scottish highland games Practice and was watching a semi-pro highland gamer demonstrate the double rotate on the weight for distance.
For those of you not unfamiliar with highland games this is kind of like the hammer though from the Olympics. You have a 28lb weight on a length of chain, you spin around a heave this as far as you can. A good gamer can though this weight 80 + feet. For the physic types yes, the is over 2200 ft/lb of energy.
Back to our hero. The semi-pro slipped the through and instead of going down field it went flying off sideways. The bystanders scattered, and Pat did not. The only thing he could do is put his hand up to deflect the weight. Fortunately it was his left, but it broke his wrist in five places.
