Gray Hair!

AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa... sorrow! I went and had my hair cut, and found gray hair! There was bunches of them! At lest 3! Soon I will look like my grandfather!

Relax... this does not mean I am old ... this does not mean I am old ... this does not mean I am old....

Mmmmm... fajitas.

Looking forward to the long weekend, and to start if off right it is on to Uncle Julio's for squirrels (swirls) and fajitas. If you live in this town you have to go have fajitas there. They are the best things in the world.

So see you all at the Faire this weekend if you are going to be there if not I tell you how it goes.

It followed us home… honest

Cache’s little truck a 95 Jeep was dieing. So we went looking for a new car. Now the first thing I need to say is this. Car salesmen are rude, creepy, and pushy. Now that is out of my system. After looking at Honda accords, Chevy Tahoe and Trailblazers and a host of other stuff we found a Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. It is the one with four normal doors and a truck bed. Both Cache and I fit in the driver seat. That is a challenge since I am 6’ and she is not. She seems very happy with it and I am glade not to worry about her truck breaking down.

have you seen 51 Texas Democrats

I love politics. It is the best entertainment there is. If you have not heard the democratic members of the Texas House went feral this week. The republicans have a majority in the Texas House and decided to do a little redistricting. In other words chop any democratic district into pieces and add it to a larger republican district. Thus making very difficult for the democratic party to keep the seats they have in the US House of Representatives.

The democrats had little options, it look as if this would be railroaded though. So they went walkies. Yes the played hooky, cut class, took a hike, voted with their feet… you get the idea. They took a trip to Oklahoma. Thus denying the republicans a quorum. The republicans for their part decided to fight ignorance and stupidity with even more ignorance and stupidity. They called the department of home land security and LIED! They said there hard been a plane crash and the state police needed some help tracking down some Texas House members. Odd the department of home land security watches CNN, and knew what was going on, odd that for a security agency.

Well by Texas House rules no more votes can be taken this year after May 15th, so sadly out wayward politicians vacation to Oklahoma is over. I tell you it just does not get any better then this… wonder if the Oklahoma tourism board knows about this.

Follow up... you have got to be kidding.

Get reloaded

Well off to see the Matrix:reloaded. *happy dance*

Ok... back.

Here is my take on it.

Do not go thinking you are going to see the Matrix. That cat is out of the bag. So this one will have to open your eyes farther or change that world. Be prepared to pay attention. Like the first time you saw Matrix. They kind of start the story with out you. In that way this one is a lot like it. Second stay though the credits… a trailer for Revolution will be on and after this one you will want to see the trailer.

On the down side I not sure I want to see this one a dozen more time like when I left Matrix. The fights are not as inspired, partly because they did not film them in the wide camera angles like old kung fu movies. The camera work is fluid but close and quick. Trying to add action where it is not or in this case there is but you can see it, cause the camera is too close.

Color is big again in this movie. As the last anything in the matrix is green and anything in the real world is blue. They also added Zion that is yellow were the humanistic side of the population are. It really is yet another world in the movie.

Anything else you have to figure out on your own…

good review

The new duds!

The New costume was out this weekend and was a big hit.

Though I discovered if you are going to play an actor you should have some plays memorized. People will ask you to preform one. The only stuff I know off the top of my head are shakespeare play due to the time frame of scarborough Faire not written yet. Scarborough is set in 1533 shakespeare was not born until 1564. Now having said that if I am playing Willian Kempe who was one of his Actors Kempe aswell may not have been born. But since very lttle is known about Kempe I am using Artistic Licence.

I also found that yes I am William Kempe.

He was a great improvasational actor with a tendancy to 'stray' from the script. Shakespeare wrote a line in Hamet

"...and let those that play your clowns speak no more than is set down for them, for there be of them that will themselves laugh, to set on some quantity of barren spectators to laugh too, though in the mean time some necessary question of the play be then to be considered. That's villainous and shows a most pitiful ambition in the fool that uses it."

William Kempe was one of the principal actors in Shakespeare's acting troupe the Lord Chandler's Men. However, Kempe proved to be a much different clown, known more for his improvisational antics, double takes, and gestures. It is thought that Shakespeare tailored his plays to the style and abilities of Kempe, but held much disdain for the actor. Nevertheless, Shakespeare was forced to tolerate Kempe because he was widely adored by the public.

In order to keep Kempe from destroying his more dramatic roles, Shakespeare created a series of simple clowns that fit Kempe's persona. For example, Kempe's greatest success came from the role of Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is evident that Shakespeare created this character with the intent of slandering the actor because early manuscripts identified the character as "Kempe" rather than "Bottom" .

So you can see why I like him.

And a shout out to my brother. Return of the King is looking good.

'don't shu no'

I just got back in to town form a work trip to Minneapolis. Now I am going to say something that might scare you… Minneapolis is a fun town.

I got some time to see the sights of the city and it was cool. This is the first time I really spent any time looking at a city I had to travel to for work. Though I must say, people in Minnesota are a bit odd. We were headed to a bar to watch the hockey game. It is the law after all you have to watch hockey. “But before we go we need to stop and get a beer.” My tour guide says. I am thinking weird liquor law maybe, no we just were not in a hurry and figured we stop off for a beer. The home team named The Wild won a great game vs.. a team I can not remember. Had some beers and some local food. It was a blast.

This morning before I flew out I went to The Mall of America. Imagine all the malls you in Dallas stacked up around Six Flags. This kind of gives you an idea of how big this place is. I bought some cheese, another law apparently. Next I drove around and got to see some of the cathedrals including St Paul’s in oddly enough St Paul.

Now do not get the idea I would like to live there…. It is only just now thawed out and is still darn cold there. But I guess I should look around every once in a while.

I have spent more time talking to my brother this week then in the last 4 days then I have in 10 years. It has been nice. I like him. He scare me sometimes! But I do like him.

“I have this game idea.
I call it the Stabbing Game, each player takes knife, they should be the same.
Taking truns they each stab the other untill one of them gives up.

Thoughts?

My thoughts… need play testing.

Useful Latin phrase o' the day

"Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi das, ad capitem tuum saxum imane mittam."

I have a catapult. Give me all the money or I'll fling an enormous rock at
your head.
