first we show up, then we see what happens
Kelly has this theory about me at bars. It goes something like this… if I would make eye contact girl would walk up ant talk to me… because I am not creepy. Now this has been a subject of much debate between the two of use. So on Wednesday while at the Blue October and Social Burn show I tested it out.
This is what I found. I spent the night being relaxed, having fun and made eye contact with girls I thought were cute. The result was at two point girls, I did not know, either smiled back or actually talked to me. I would not call myself the new hotness, but much better then I normally do in that environment.
As it happens I had sushi with Kelly last and had a chance to do a little post experiment debrief. This is where it gets really funny. Over Halloween she and a couple of girl friends went out bar hopping. She found her self in a meat market moment. As she walked though the bar she used her go glassy eye and avoid looking at any boys to evade the horde of men trying to make the much-vaunted eye contact. It hit her some of these boys my not be creepy… much like me. But still you cannot take the risk in a place such as this.
So she now says do the eye contact thing unless you are in an area where targets are scarce then do not. This is getting very complicated. So of you want to meet women, you need to find a place where few other men are but lots of women who want to men are? I think I am going back to the accepting I am not good at this and leave it at that.
