Romance is alive and well ... lovers are dropping like flies.
MSN this morning has a most romantic couples list. Looking it over I was freaked out by our vision of love. Half of the couples end up apart or dead. Four have infidelity issues. Of the men, only three have not attacked or killed some on in anger. The women are not much better, five of them lied about their relationship, four of those too the man in the relationship.
1. Rick Blaine & Ilsa Lund from Casablanca
2. Romeo Montague & Juliet Capulet from Romeo & Juliet
3. Westley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride
4. Lloyd Dobler & Diane Court in Say Anything
5. Harry Burns & Sally Albright from When Harry Met Sally
6. Charles & Carrie from Four Weddings and a Funeral
7. Laszlo de Almasy & Katharine Clifton from The English Patient
8. William Shakespeare & Viola De Lesseps from Shakespeare in Love leaves
9. Christian & Satine from Moulin Rouge

Well all of what you said may be true, but at the same time...they are all, correct me if I am wrong, fictional. They are all created for drama and high emotion. Where there any real people on the list?

After Casablanca and Romeo & Juliet... I mean come on... the movie was good but... Romeo & Juliet has been tops for like 400 years!

Romeo & Juliet? good play, yes. . brilliant work of art, yes. . .most romantic couple. . ra! could any story illustrate the lack of understanding of real love any more?. . no sacrifice for another person, no real awareness or care for circumstances or emotions outside of oneself or how one's actions will affect someone else at all. ok, we've all had the "i want that" kind of love.(I call it give me the brownie love, or lust would work) it's a nice place to start but in and of itself - not so much anything at all! If Romeo and Juliet are a romantic fictional couple then Jennifer Lopez must be the most romantic actual person who ever lived!

Yes, we kind of think that is what it should be... but true romance happens when the two of you just had a fight and you can admit you love this women.. no matter how you feel right now.
