Theory...
There is a war over text books. With terms like neo-Darwinian theory, scientific materialism, and intelligent design, groups are fighting to get evolution thrown out of life sciences text books. I remember this fight from freshmen life science in High School. Our teacher was a creationist, but he did a very good job of being neutral about the subject of evolution. He told you where he stood and then gave you what the facts were. Most of us ended up believing as most scientists do. That God made life on this planet evolved over a long period of time. I am not sure why it is so hard to imagine that God could have created a world that evolved. You see us simple High School students and Scientist see the world without the labels like neo-Darwinian or creationism.
Speaking of labels… The Cobb County Board of Education in Georgia is requiring labels on life science text books that read:
This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered.
Swarthmore College's Natural Science department has a wonderful set of labels you can print for yourself to supplement these label. (Thanks Steve Jackson)
Remember gravity is only a theory…

well, you did it, you made me yell at my computer screen as though it was a television set in the days when Politically Incorrect graced the screen, but i've read the alternate stickers and i'm calm now.

Hmmm... Why is it so hard for the rest of Christianity to understand that Evolution is God's continuing creation.
Who are we to claim to understand God. He is the all-powerful who can do what he wants. Do people think he created the world and then quit??
By the way, mainstream science does not believe in the missing-link anymore aka an evolutinary jump from 1 species to another. What is undeniable is evolution within a species.
