Karol Joseph Wojtyla

His name was Karol Joseph Wojtyla, but most of the world knows him as John Paul II. Before he would be know by that name was a stone mason, helped Jews find refuge from the Nazis, and dreamed of being an actor.

1920 - Born in Poland on May 18
1946 - Ordained a priest
1954 - Appointed professor of ethics at Catholic University of Lublin
1964 - Appointment as resident Archbishop of Krakow
1978 - Chosen by the College of Cardinals to lead the Roman Catholic Church.
2005 - Passed away a great man.
