Our Friday rant...

Some things that irritate me:

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) the animal rights campaign that includes ending fur and leather use, meat and dairy consumption, fishing, hunting, trapping factory farming, circuses, bull fighting… Members of this anthropomorphic wacko organization should be feed to wild animals. Then both their and my goals would be the same. We would be one step closer to reducing the death and suffering of all life.

'Real People Real Games' the group that handed out stickers protesting the use of models or 'booth babes' at the Electronic Entertainment Expo E3… It is not that I hate ugly people, it is just that I am geek and this is the only time in my life attractive girls are going to try to sell me something I want to pay for. Please just shut up and let me enjoy being me for a moment.

Reality TV… stop and think about it, there is a TV crew standing there! This is not reality, they are not in the jungle or an island. They have a craft services truck! Someone please start telling stories with good acting again.

The endless stream of groups who say video games/music/movies are bad because they make kids to take drugs, have sex, have low self esteem, eat, not eat, whatever… Real studies show kids today do fewer drugs, commit less crime and have less sex then in the 50’s. The problem is that does not make good press. They understand more about sex, violence and hate then you or I did at their age.

Please return the joy you people are taking from my world...

Amen to the PETA and the Reality TV part. I don't know about the Real Games Real People, but it doesn't sound like something I would have a problem with. On the bright side about the Reality TV, the lack of decent programming gives me more time to read, stitch, scrapbook, and costume which are probably much more productive uses of my time.

I agree.

PETA annoys me because they are radicals for a cause that does not have a radical solution. Having had to walk through thier protest lines to get to work to cure human disease has sealed the deal that that organization will never see a dime of my money or a fraction of my support.

Reality TV is one of the main reasons Glenn and I do not have any form of network TV in our house.

Pretty girls selling boys things is what makes the world go round!

Music (and other popular art forms) will always take the blame for social behaviors that are simply a reaction to growing up.
