202 down 163 to go

I hate my birthday. Most of my life I have tried to ignore this event. History dislikes the day. The FBI gunned down John Dillinger on July 22. Jeffrey Dahmer was caught on my birthday. The Holocaust started on my birthday, I not kidding Holocaust started on my birthday.

Personally, the day itself has always been better when I ignored the part about being born then. In 1991 I started at the Fort Worth Zoo, on my birthday, good day, no fanfare. On my list of top 10 birthdays is one where I forbid anyone to speak of my birth or buy me anything. We all went bowling instead. I paid.

This year, I had a nice birthday. I invite 10 people over and cook dinner for them. That is right I feed people. The best times of my life have been when I was doing things for others. I like spending time with people. This is what I want, every year. Forget the whole ‘celebrate the anniversary of my birth’ thing. The best things in my world are all of you. The truth is I am glade I was born everyday.

By the way if you would like to see pics, they are up … thanks Shaggy!

Missing in action.

Sorry for the silence of late. A couple factors have conspired to limit the number of posts. One is that I am in my normal July funk. July is always a down month for me. It could be my birthday. I had great plans to be productive because there is no faire or holidays, but have not. Therefore, I am in a funk. This year seems to be worse then normal.

The second is that work has been taking a large amount of my brainpower. Up until the honeymoon I was spending long hours. Since I have been back, it has taken more concentration. When I get home, I need to recharge my batteries. For me that means video games.

Lastly, I have realized that I am avoiding posting, because I am avoiding people. This is not good for me. So, here is a post and I will be working on others. They will be more up beat, I promise.

Honeymoon!

We made it back from St. Croix. K and I spent the last week on the most amazing island. If you ever get a chance go. For one thing, the weather is great. It is 80. Always, the water is 80 the night is 80 the daytime is 80. They have the most bore weather report ever; today it will be beautiful 80 degree with a 30% chance of rain. On it rain every day, really hard for about 5 minutes. We road horses, sailed, shopped, snorkeled along reefs, ate great food, play in the ocean and did about a million other very enjoyable things. We had a great time.

I have posted pictures on the photo album… go see then book plane tickets!
