Isn't that a curse? May you live in interesting times. Is it the need for drama that draws us to those interesting times? What would it be like to have things normal and serene? Life has definately been interesting lately. Tough, but absolutely interesting.
Posted by at September 14, 2003 06:02 PMYa know what? "Normal and serene" would become "boring." Don't get me wrong: I love serenity. I have chased ordinariness for too much of my life without finding it. Or else I've found it now and then without being satisfied by it.
What I think I'd really like is not drama so much as serenity punctuated by surprise. Drama implies tragedy. Surprise has the sweet ring of delight in its sound.
Finding this whole site has been a delightful surprise. Seeing one of the cats roll over in his sleep and tumble entirely off the desk was another version...poor Olly! He's curling up to nap exactly where he fell. I'm sure that will allow some of his dignity to pull back together.
Cheers!
